We're building Study Mate with a small, focused team. If you care about student success and want real ownership, we'd like to hear from you.

Summer 2026 internships

10–12 week programs for students and recent grads. Work alongside our team on product, growth, or engineering — with mentorship and clear project goals.

  • Ideal for rising juniors and seniors (or equivalent)
  • Hybrid-friendly; we'll confirm location with finalists
  • Unpaid internship; academic credit arrangements possible where applicable

Software engineering

Full-stack and product-minded engineers who ship reliable features and care about security, performance, and a great user experience.

  • Web stack experience (we use Node, serverless APIs, and modern HTML/CSS)
  • Comfort owning a feature from design review to deploy

Marketing

Growth and brand storytellers who can reach students authentically — campus programs, content, partnerships, and measurable campaigns.

  • Clear writing and channel strategy (social, email, campus)
  • Data-informed experiments and iteration

How we interview

Most roles start with a short intro call, followed by a skills conversation (technical or portfolio-based), and a final culture and values fit with the team. We keep rounds purposeful — we respect your time and share timelines up front.

Sample questions we may ask

Software engineering

  • Walk us through a system or feature you built end to end. What would you improve today?
  • How do you approach debugging a production issue you can't reproduce locally?
  • How would you design a fair rate limit or session model for a student-facing API?
  • Tell us about a tradeoff you made between speed and quality.

Marketing

  • Describe a campaign or channel you owned. What metric did you move and how?
  • How would you introduce Study Mate on a campus where no one has heard of us?
  • What content or message would you test first, and how would you measure success?
  • How do you balance brand voice with performance marketing?

Interns (all tracks)

  • What do you want to learn this summer, and why here?
  • Describe a time you shipped something under a deadline — school, work, or side project.
  • How do you prioritize when mentors and coursework both need attention?
  • What feedback have you received that changed how you work?
